The following information message might bee seen on a computer using computer battery while participating in a conference using Live Meeting 2007.

Performance Warning:

Your computer is running off a battery. The quality of the video you send may be reduced until you switch to ac power.

I cannot find any public statement from Microsoft about this, but i´m sure its cause by today’s laptop computere’s that are able to save power by reducing the performance capability’s of computer causing Live Meeting (and probably also Office Communiator) to reduce video quality.

Rasmus

  • Hi Rasmus,

Actually videoprocessing is CPU intensive and using e.g. the Roundtable requires a dual-core machine to get the best quality and HD video in R2 will require Quad-core. FYI – I think I’ve posted an article on msgoodies about this earlier.
